Usaha Guru Dalam Meningkatkan Minat Siswa
Mempelajari Matematika
By Dr. Marsigit, M. A
It is inevitable that we often find students experiencing difficulties in learning mathematics. This suggests that teaching mathematics is also not easy, because there is no best way to teach mathematics.
The constraints experienced by teachers are as follows:
· dealing with differences in their students' abilities,
· encourage active student learning,
· develop mathematical learning technology,
and difficulties experienced by teachers that is the presence of high achievement target NEM and the completion of the syllabus. Two of these factors cause the teacher seemed not to have another alternative in teaching mathematics. From the constraints and difficulties experienced by the teacher that makes students less like math. Therefore, teachers need to understand better the nature of mathematics and the nature of students' learning of mathematics.
As for who should be done so that students like math lesson some of them:
· a change in the model teacher-centered learning where students are passive, turned into a model student-centered learning and the student who plays an active role,
· a change in paradigm that learning mathematics is not to be a liability, but to be an awareness and demand,
· a change in orientation of the study, which was originally oriented to the value, change the orientation on the process and outcome,
· in learning, teachers function more as an educator, facilitator, and dynamist,
· contact between teachers and students also must be closer, and
· etc.
